SUMMERTIME AND THE VOTERS FEEL QUEASY
Comments and feedback are welcome…
- Brexit, “the beginning of the end of the concept of Europe”
- The refugee crisis is changing the political landscape of Europe…and this is tied to the American election.
The Elites — in Britain, in Europe and in America — are collectively being challenged. We are seeing a breakdown of the old order.
Trump is the most improbable of candidates, but there is a precedent: 1992 and Ross Perot. He speaks to two themes: trade and immigration – the way in which America intersects with the rest of the world.
Hillary Clinton has a passel of e-mail troubles…
Bernie Sanders — who would have thought he could get this far? It makes me think of the Pied Piper of Hamelin.
And yet…if California were to go to Bernie Sanders the Democrats would be in crisis. This could be a re-creation of the events in Chicago in 1968. The riots then led to the election of Richard Nixon.
In every respect, what has turned out has been contrary to what was expected. We anticipate a hot summer.
